Diabhal is a riveting story about cults, power, exorcism and the devil.
It follows Ceit, who resides in a cul-de-sac in Venice beach with her extended family. They are all a part of a cult called The Society. After her mother's failed exorcism lands her in the foster care system in Los Angeles which eventually brings her to Mac Laren Hall, a centre for disturbed and abandoned children.
With the huge cast of character, Diabhal is a story where demons can take any shape that the desire and the devil is regarded as a misunderstood entity. This isn't a story to direct havoc of insecurity and fear, it is a story that shows a different shade of something that has been cemented a long time ago. Ceit's story has gradual changes that will finally grow into the potential that she uphold. This is her story of what the destiny chose for her.
When I started reading this book I had no idea where the story would take me. But gradually it all made sense. Diabhal is not a simple story rather it is a complex and methodical expound of intricate and delicate writing style that would transport you back in time to the 1980 era. The author's massively creative writing definitely give the vibe that was simply outstanding. The Celtic and other cultural references with extensive language was an experience to withhold because I never witnessed such a magnificent reading time before. Considering this is the first book in the series I am excited to see how the author chooses to take the story forward in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who is always on a lookout for some unique storyline that will be memorable and inspiring at the same time. If you are that reader then your search ends here with Diabhal. The story has a distinctive premise and contains a completely original idea that the plot hinges on.
