Love in shadow is a riveting LGBTQ+ romance that takes the readers on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and actions. This is an exciting series starter. 

The story follows Victoria who is married, straight woman with kids as well as an excellent gardener and then there is Sam Reese who is a reporter and also a lesbian. Upon their meet where she gives the "Garden of the year" yard sign to Victoria, we can see that some sparks have ignited in their hearts mutually. As we delve deeper into the story, we see that Victoria is navigating some aspects of her life, pondering and realising there's more to her story, to herself.

The story is very engaging right from the start. The author keeps the narration really quick and on the top that pulls you in and into the lives of the characters. By the middle of the book, there are emotions of love, frustrations, delight and turns of events that escalate in an interesting manner. The characters are well written and superbly carry their roles in establishing a good paced storyline. The romance and passion were definitely sizzling. I picked it up for a weekend read and it was definitely one of the most decisions that I made because I found myself a new favourite author. Amanda's writing style and creative imagination is truly commendable and I enjoyed this book. I cannot wait to read other books from her in the future.

I'd highly recommend this book to all the romance lovers. This story will sweep you off your feet.
