The wrench in the machine is the book one in The Association of Ishtar. It's a Steampunk adventure fiction that will pull you into the narration with quite an ease and

It follows Inspector Ol’Barrow of Dover’s borough who is investigating a mysterious murder along with his colleague Bibsby. Their probe leads them to an assassin with deadly and uncanny otherworldly provenance. In his attempt to solve the mystery and reclaim his reputation he forges a partnership with The Association of Ishtar, who claim to contain any and all anomalies which is categorised as Rifts. These are generally the harmless gateways to the multiverse but also an acess point for dangers that are in the multiverse.

This opens up a world of such incredible reveals that it will shock and surprise Inspector Ol’Barrow. As he learns these startling declarations,

This is an unique premise with the theme of a cosmic horror steampunk fiction set in the alternate 1870's with transhumanists cults battling and eliminating occult faction. Explore the mysterious new worlds and a technocratic future paving its way.

The writing style is absolutely mesmerizing. It has be a wonderful reading experience that has created a place in the memorable reads. I had no idea on how the story was going to unfold but that happens to be the best thing because it had a lot of surprises and fascinating twists. The world building, itself is one of the strongest attributes of the story, it was incredibly well-written. And my favorite was The Association of Ishtar, they were this covet organization of volunteers who have accepted the responsibility of exploring the multiverse. It definitely piqued my interest to pick up this book and the author did not disappoint me.

I'd recommend this book to the readers who love strong world-building and gripping storyline. And especially to the adventure enthusiasts, they will be delighted to delve into a world where multiverse actually exists. Doesn't that sound exciting? So, go ahead and pick this for your next read.
