Forgotten Follower By Elaine Ricker Kelly. (review)

Happy Tuesday.😇

Author: Elaine Ricker Kelly.

Book: Forgotten Followers.

Rating: 10/10✨📚

Forgotten Followers: from broken to bold, is an intriguing work of Christian historical fiction that encompasses the themes of hope, courage and love. These biblical stories are retold from a woman's perspective which truly brings out the truth of life.

Tagged as "Many women," this book navigated through the life and hardships of women of the Gospels who have been given the deserved respect and admiration for following Jesus. Instead of being downtrodden and dismissed, racially discriminated against, the author has conveyed their worlds and situations to support Jesus and his disciples.

The story focuses on Mara and Joanna. Each one of them has suffered and witnessed the pain and abuse. But when there is a need to stand up and follow Jesus, they become ardent in their respective lives. Mara is Jesus's aunt and Joanna becomes a patron after Jesus heals her of her pain and ache.

Her nephew, Jesus is a miraculous healer but when he is chased for saying something that goes against common man understanding, Mara becomes lost as well. Right on the other hand, Joanna's situation of hiding her mixed-race heritage or losing her family and community rattles her.

A well explored and articulated book that speaks volumes about transcending from "broken to bold" which ultimately builds up to the storyline. It's essence of encouragement and support.

I highly recommend it to all the readers. Reading this book was a one of a kind experience.
