A girl with five ties is a captivating psychological fiction encompassing dark humor and challenging aspects and facets of academia. Drawing from personal experiences and summating with a dash of creative imagination and a whole lot of realistic observations.

This is the story about a protagonist who is going through all of things at a time. The narrator gets the readers through her life events and her desire and habit of keeping two lovers close by her. Optioning between Chuck and Dallas, she never saw that her reality was about to take her into a new relationship. Being Ph.D., Chole takes us through the academic bully and exploitation. 

To understand the meaning behind the title of the book you will have to delve deeper into the hidden themes of the novel, which unravels gradually. Chloe is a complicated character, her emotions are raw and cut straight to reality. The pain and suffering as well as the mental health issues are quite vividly narrated and it definitely provides a sense of solace amongst the loudness of it all. 

At first glance, readers may see this as just debauchery and nothing more. However that is not true at all, Chole shares her past which dramatic enough to develop severe eating disorder. The conclusion was so surprising that I just talked for a while thinking and taking it all in, it was totally unexpected!

I am so glad I pick this up for a read. I enjoyed the plot, characters and the writing style of the author and cannot wait to read more books from her in the future. Highly recommend you to read this if you are looking for a realistic story with a peculiar character.
