The Unclosed Portal is the second book in the Seth Cost Saga. Seth is still searching for his lost home, the floating city Swevender. He has come a long way when it comes to his powers, during this journey, he is no longer just a water bender, he can do a lot more things through matter manipulation.

While searching for his lost home, he comes across strange creatures and even stranger lands with ancient ruins, he builds himself a new home as close to his home at Swevender as possible but in a tear design which was the most practical given the surroundings. The readers explore along with Seth this post - apocalyptic world. Join Seth in this adventurous and somewhat mysterious exploration!

This book was just fantastic, although I found it to be slower paced as compared to the first book of this Saga, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Exploring with Seth kept me hooked and intrigued. I also want to point out that even if someone hasn't read the first book, they will not face any difficulty if they chose to read this as a standalone, however I recommend you to read the first part as it is amazing.

I also liked the alternate narration a lot, it made me very curious and kept me engaged. This book will also answer the question Does Seth reach Swevender? This book has a lot packed in and it is just amazing. Although this book is essentially fantasy and adventure set in post apocalyptic world but I really liked that whole of matter manipulation is not labeled as magic but Seth explain how atoms are at the base of it, so there is a little science blended in with the dominant elements of fantasy and adventure.
