Ghostlife the underworld is an paranormal adventure written by Marie Barros. Its the story of Vera who discovers that she has the power to communicate with the dead due to a accident that happened in her teenage life and how that one life changes her life.

It just takes one night, to turn Vera Turner’s life. Due to the death of her stepfamily and her best friend, Vera is a changed person.

And now nine years later, when her uncle has finally convinced her to stop blaming herself and start living a life, she applies to Black Rose Academy. Which she gets accepted in. But her uncle is hesitant to send her there because Black Rose Academy is a school only for people that can see ghosts. And Vera doesn't know she possesses those skills.

As Vera is starting to learn more about this ability and adjusting to this new life and learning about history of the world of dead, she started getting mysterious letters written in strange markings that she cannot decipher.

What starts as a search regarding the meaning of those letters turns into a full blown investigation as other skeletons begin to pour out of the closet of the history of the world of dead: two terrible wars between the living and the dead and her own family’s hidden secrets and a time machine built inside an elevator.

The journey of letting go of her past and building a new life are clashing and Vera has to figure out how she is going to balance them both. And it's upto Vera to discover the questions that she’s asking are not only a part of greater plan that could effect both history as well as the future.

One thing I most liked about the book was it's beautiful cover. It suited so well to the book. And the plotline as well the characters were written so well. The plotline was definitely something new. Which made me so hooked that I had to complete the book in one sitting. All the characters were written in such a way that you would find yourself relating to some or other part of them. The only thing I didn't like about the book was that it ended in a cliffhanger.
