While life is full of uncertainties, one thing is certain and inevitable and that is death. The realisation that our time on Earth with our loved ones is limited when one of our beloved leaves us is very heartbreaking and full of agony.

Life's A B*tch And Then You Die deals with the heavy topic of death and grief of losing your loved one, in author's case her Mom. The book is divided into four parts, all carrying the emotions of grief and the struggles faced by the author while dealing with her mother's loss as well as useful and practical tips for the readers.

Losing your loved one can affect you in a million ways and everyone's healing journey is also different. However, there are some things that we can do to lessen our pressure while mourning our loss. The book offers many lessons in this regard from how to arrange a standard funeral and how to normalize the talk around the topic of death to how to deal with the anniversary effect.

The poems show the raw emotions felt by the author and I couldn't help but feel her pain and see my own pain of losing my loved ones in her words. She is a really strong woman to be able to put her personal experiences into words for the world in an unadulterated manner. The book is heartbreaking yet comforting in its own way, it is useful as it offers a lot of practical tips for someone who has lost their loved ones or for someone dealing with a person going through a loss.
