*“My mom and I were both born in India, but raised in two different cultures. I felt more comfortable seeking professional support, whereas my mother didn’t. For her, it went back to ‘What will people think’ or ‘What will people say?’”*
Saaya unveiled : South Asian Mental Health is a non fiction work by Mrinal Gokhale in which she described 11 south Asian individuals life's story.
The book cover, title are amazing and I loved it completely.📚
It's a collection of interview of 11 south Asian individuals who navigate mental health in the West. It includes their story their struggles regarding mental health importance.
The name of the book Saaya unveiled because each story unveils a part to shadow(or Saaya in Hindi) of mental health in South Asian diaspora.
It's an inspiring book and must read by everyone so that the taboo that *what will other people think* or *Mental therapy is only for crazy people* can be removed from society.
This book will describe the difference in thought of people of South Asian regarding mental health issues, And you will learn the importance of mental health.
*"Through physical health you can enjoy your luxurious life or goal, but mental health will take you there"*
