I would lile to start with my favorite line of the book.📜

Shades Of Me A book of Poetry by Katchouscia Apollon is a beautiful collection of many concepts of emotions and life. In this book, the author has told all the hard memories of her life and her faith in God through poems and short stories.📖📜

I will start with the short stories that the author tells in the book. Both her parents were doctors. When the author was 14 years old her parents split up and the father remarried.🎆

By some work of God, in junior year her and a girl named Nadine lockers were right by each other so they started talking. Author and Nadine have been good friends since the end of junior year in high school. In senior year they both decided to apply to Northeastern University as an attempt at leaving their homes. 🎆

“Have your parents ever spoken to you about relationships or sex?” author asked Nadine

Girl, please. Do you mean keep your legs closed until you’re married or don’t have a boyfriend until after college? Cause you know that’s what they always say and

once they say it they don’t feel they have to say it again. Nadine said.💯

A little girl in a young woman’s body that understands her past in order to Overstand her future. 👩‍

Author started dating a man named Lamont. After two year of relationship Lemont asked her for breakup, because his schedule is too full. She wanted to scream she shattered. When they first met, she wanted to remind him of all the promises he had made to her.

But instead she kept all of that to herself.🙎‍♀️

The author has written her short stories with such excellent lines that you will be able to feel every single line with your own.📚💯

Author has also written very well about black skin racism. It is painful and heartbreaking when people make you feel external and uncomfortable. Because the complexion of your skin.📜🙌

All skin colors are given by God. They did not ask for justice or they did not differentiate between black skin and fair skin. Then why do we always racist about skin colours.🙌

Here is my second favorite line of the book

THESE OBSTACLES WILL NEVER DEFINE MY LIMITATIONS

I WILL CONTINUE TO BE TRUE TO MYSELF, I'M SURE THAT I WILL MAKE IT.📜

The poem is full of memories of life. I cannot describe the story with my own words. Poetry written by Katchouscia is very good and artistic.🌺

If you are tired of trying. If you are begging people to be in your life. If you feel so inaccessible. If you are feeling unloved And you are thinking about giving up on life.✨️ Read this book it will help you to refined yourself.📜

This is a truly heart touching poetry book and I appreciate the hard work of the author. Through this book, the author is inspiring those who are tired of trying and at the same time giving them a new hope for a new beginning.⭐️
